Coconut chocolate panna cotta – paleo & vegan

After the positive feedback for my maca protein panna cotta, I created another easy and quick to make dessert: this paleo and vegan coconut chocolate panna cotta!

Make sure to buy a full fat coconut milk that is 100% pure coconut milk – creamy, thick and tasty. No preservatives or other ingredients if you really want that intense rich coconut taste!

Instead of raw cacao buttons* you can also use a few pieces dark chocolate. I prefer those raw cacao buttons cause they offer all the health benefits of raw unprocessed cacao and have a deep and intense cacao flavor.

Depending on the product you might need more or less agar agar. I only use this pure agar agar* powder with no added sugar and other ingredients.

The recipe is pretty basic and you can always add different spices to switch it up. Cinnamon, gingerbread spice… get creative and try different variations!

Ingredients

  • 400 ml coconut milk/Kokosmilch I used thick premium coconut milk/ich habe cremige Premiumkokosmilch verwendet
  • 20 g raw cacao/Rohkakao
  • 60 g coconut sugar/Kokosblütenzucker or stevia/oder Stevia
  • 4 raw cacao buttons/Rohkakaolinsen
  • 4 g agar agar/Agar Agar
  • vanilla/Vanille

Instructions

  1. Bring all ingredients to a boil in a pan and then let simmer until thick and creamy. Don't forget to stir all the time to make sure everything is blended perfectly./Alle Zutaten in einem Topf zum Kochen bringen und dann kurz köcheln lassen bis die Creme dickflüssig und cremig ist.

  2. Fill into 4 small jars or silicone tins and put in the fridge for 10 minutes, then in the freezer for 10 minutes./In 4 kleine Gläser oder Silikonformen füllen und dann 10 Minuten zuerst in den Kühlschrank und dann 10 Minuten ins Gefrierfach geben.

  3. Store in the fridge and add any toppings before serving./Im Kühlschrank aufbewahren und nach Belieben vor dem Verzehren mit Toppings verzieren.
